FAQ

Questions & answers

Do pupils need to download an app?
No. Pupils open their portal from the link you send, in any browser on their phone, tablet or laptop. Learners who prefer an app can sign in on the Orbit app from Google Play; the iPhone app is coming soon.
How do pupils access the portal?
Each pupil receives a secure token link by email. Tapping the link opens their personal portal immediately - no username, password, or account creation required. The link is unique to each pupil and cannot be used to access anyone else's data.
Can pupils see other pupils' information?
Absolutely not. Each pupil's portal is completely private. They can only see their own progress, lessons, balance, and teaching aids. There is no shared view, no class list, and no way to discover other pupils.
Can pupils book lessons through the portal?
Yes. If you have online booking enabled, pupils can see your available slots and book their next lesson directly from the portal. You control your availability and can approve or auto-accept bookings depending on your preference.
Is the pupil portal free for pupils?
The portal account is free for pupils and included with your Orbit account, like every other feature. A booking fee (from £2.99, or 4%) is added to lessons booked or paid online through the portal, paid by the learner. Theory Premium (mock tests, hazard perception and progress analytics) is an optional £2.99/month upgrade; free accounts get 10 practice questions a day.
