Orbit, formerly DrivePro
What is Orbit Driving? The free app for UK driving instructors, formerly DrivePro
Orbit Driving is Orbit, the app at orbitdriving.com. It runs a driving instructor's diary, online bookings, card payments, pupil progress and tax records, and it is free for instructors: no subscription, no trial, no card needed. Learners use the same app to find an instructor, book, pay and practise for the theory test.
Until September 2026 it was called DrivePro and lived at drivepro.app. Same product, same accounts, new name.

Orbit used to be DrivePro
DrivePro became Orbit in September 2026. On 29 September 2026 the website moved from drivepro.app to orbitdriving.com. Every old address forwards to the same page on the new domain, so an old booking link that a pupil saved still opens the right page.
What changed:
- The name and logo: DrivePro is now Orbit.
- The web address: orbitdriving.com instead of drivepro.app.
- The contact email: hello@orbitdriving.com.
What did not change:
- Your account, diary, pupils and bookings. Nothing needed exporting or re-entering.
- The Android app. It is the same Google Play listing and now opens orbitdriving.com.
- The price for instructors, which is still nothing. The pricing page sets out who pays what.
Orbit Driving is not Orbit Driving School, or DrivePro dash cams
Several unrelated businesses use similar names. If you searched for one of these, you want a different business:
- Orbit Driving School. A driving school teaching automatic lessons in Rugby (as of October 2026). It has no connection to us. Orbit does not give driving lessons; the instructors who use it run their own businesses.
- DrivePro dash cams and trackers. Transcend sells a range of DrivePro dash cams, and DrivePro.io Ltd sells GPS vehicle trackers. Neither is related to Orbit, which makes no hardware.
- drivepro.uk and drivepro.co.uk. We do not own either. drivepro.uk is a driving school in Burton and Derby (as of October 2026) with no link to Orbit.
What instructors get, free
Everything below is included for every instructor. There is no paid instructor plan.
- A diary in day, week and month views, plus your own booking page where pupils book your open slots.
- Automatic email and push reminders 24 hours and 2 hours before every lesson.
- A waiting list: post a cancelled slot and the first learner on the list hears about it by email.
- Cancellation fees charged to the pupil's card on file, on your own 24-hour, 48-hour or custom window.
- Card payments straight into your own Stripe account, which Stripe then pays out to your bank.
- Pupil progress across all 27 DVSA syllabus topics. Record a voice note after a lesson and Orbit writes up the debrief.
- Expenses with receipt photos, mileage logged against lessons in your diary, a running tax estimate and a tax-year summary. For Making Tax Digital, Orbit is built on HMRC's MTD for Income Tax API and completing HMRC's software recognition process; live submissions open once HMRC approves it.
- An optional public profile in Orbit's instructor search. When a new pupil books you from there, a one-off £30 introduction fee comes out of that first payment, and nothing after that. Details on the marketplace page.
So who pays? Learners pay a booking fee when they pay for a lesson online by card: £2.99 or 4% of the payment, whichever is greater. It is added on top of your price and never comes out of your payout. Driving schools with several instructors pay from £8 per seat per month for the school tools.
Trainee instructors get a free trainee account in the same app for ADI Part 1 practice and tracking Part 2 and 3 training. Our guide to becoming a driving instructor covers the route. Coming from another app? See how Orbit compares with Total Drive, or browse every Orbit feature.
What learners get
- Find a driving instructor near you by town or postcode, see their prices and free slots, and book.
- Pay for lessons securely by card, with the booking fee described above added to the lesson price.
- Follow your progress against the DVSA syllabus, keep a reflective log after each lesson, and get a reminder before every lesson.
- The Orbit theory test app: 10 free practice questions a day. Theory Premium, £2.99 a month, adds the DVSA revision question bank, full mock tests and hazard perception clips.
Learner accounts are free. More on the learner side of Orbit.
