Why ADIs are switching

Free for instructors — no weekly franchise fee

DriveJohnsons franchise fees are estimated at £150-200 a week. Orbit is free for driving instructors, with no contract. You arrange your own car and insurance, and you keep full control of your business.

Build your own brand and reputation

With DriveJohnsons, pupils remember the brand - not you. Go independent and every recommendation and review builds YOUR business. Your name becomes the brand.

HMRC Making Tax Digital built in

Orbit keeps your lesson income and expenses in one place and totals them into your quarterly Making Tax Digital updates. It's built on HMRC's MTD for Income Tax API and completing HMRC's software recognition process; live submissions open once HMRC approves it.

How it works

Switch in 4 simple steps

Check your DriveJohnsons contract

Review your franchise agreement for notice period and end date. Give written notice as required and plan your transition.

Sign up to Orbit

Create your free account during your notice period. No card needed. Configure your booking page, rates, and availability.

Arrange your own car and insurance

Source your own dual-control car and ADI insurance. Without the franchise package, you have full control over costs and vehicle choice.

Transition your pupils

Let your pupils know you're going independent. Share your new Orbit booking link. Pupils follow instructors they trust - the franchise name is secondary.
