There's no minimum number of lessons you must have or hours you must practise, according to GOV.UK. How many you need depends on how quickly you learn, your confidence, and how often you can practise between lessons. Your instructor will tell you honestly when you're approaching test standard, and the DVSA's Ready to Pass checklist (readytopass.campaign.gov.uk) helps you judge whether you're ready.

Yes — many instructors in Merton offer automatic lessons, and the number is growing as more cars switch to automatic and electric. Automatic lessons are often slightly more expensive but many learners find them easier to master, especially in busy areas.
